Objectives

Given any PQS task row, construct a teachable lesson segment: objective, demonstration plan, common errors, and completion check.

The row is the lesson plan

Each PQS row already contains the objective (the standard column), the venue, and the evaluation method. The instructor adds three things: a demonstration sequence, the common-error list, and the check question or performance check that proves the objective was met. Lesson 2.1’s grading standard supplies the error lists for flight tasks.

Worked example — HL.V.6 Commanded RTL

  • Objective: execute RTL per procedure with full crew coordination.
  • Demonstrate: instructor flies one RTL narrating each callout and the confirmation slider.
  • Common errors: skipping the landing-zone re-check before descent; announcing late; hands off the controls during autonomous descent.
  • Check: student commands one RTL unprompted; instructor grades against the standard, not against the demonstration.
