Objectives

Complete the Site Survey Template (GCS App. D) with zero blank fields for a given scenario; apply Part 107 requirements and platform environmental limitations to a documented go/no-go decision.

Outline

  • Field-by-field survey build for a worked example site: airspace class, aerodrome bearing/distance/contact, obstacles, EMS info, NOTAMs.
  • RFI/EMI source identification — substations, high-voltage lines, communications structures — and why the manual bans operating near them.
  • Weather and environmental limits: precipitation, icing conditions, and the wind/temperature judgment call.
  • The go/no-go call as a graded behavior, not a vibe.
