About Course

Initial qualification course for pilots of the Draganfly Heavy Lift, derived row-for-row from PQS-HL-01, the platform Qualification Standard. The sequence follows the military qualification model: operating limitations and critical action procedures are memorized first, then systems knowledge, ground operations, and procedures, ending in a graded practical phase.

Every lesson objective traces to a PQS task row; the written exam gates and the final practical evaluation are built from the same rows. Completion requires each topic exam gate and a qualification evaluation graded Q on all required tasks by a qualified instructor.

Course Content

Topic 1 — Foundations: Limits & Critical Actions
The what-kills-you layer comes first: operating limitations and immediate action procedures are memorized to 100% before any systems theory. Feeds PQS rows HL.I.1, HL.I.5, HL.VII.1.

Topic 2 — Systems Knowledge
Now that the envelope is memorized, learn the machine inside it: airframe, power, avionics, flight modes, failsafe logic, and batteries. Feeds PQS Areas I–II.

Topic 3 — Ground Operations & Mission Planning
Assembly and inspection discipline, site survey, regulatory compliance, DGCS mission construction, checklists, and the crew brief. Feeds PQS Areas III–IV.

Topic 4 — Flight Procedures
Normal procedures and callouts, automated missions and payloads, and the complete emergency procedure set beyond the memory items. Ground study for the field phase. Feeds PQS Areas V–VII.

Topic 5 — Practical Phase & Qualification
Three instructor-delivered field lessons and the qualification evaluation. Each lesson card lists its tasks by PQS row — the instructor grade sheet is the same list.
