Objectives

Complete the Site Survey Template (GCS App. D) with zero blank fields for a given scenario; apply Part 107 requirements and the manual’s environmental precautions to a documented go/no-go decision.

Outline

  • Field-by-field survey build for a worked example site, following the template exactly: center point and radius, maximum target altitude, airspace classification, FIC contact, bearing/distance and contact for the nearest aerodrome, nearest medical center, emergency services, obstacles, nearby RFI/EMI sources, hazards, additional precautions, and regional NOTAMs (GCS App. D).
  • The Heavy Lift manual’s stated environmental precautions: no operations while precipitation is present, none when conditions favor icing, none near or over people on the ground, and always within the limits of the operating permit or license (HL 1.2.2).
  • Part 107 application to the planned operation: airspace authorization, VLOS, weather minimums.
  • The go/no-go call as a graded behavior, not a vibe.
